Sheffield Wednesday fans react on Twitter to Tom Lees' performance

Sheffield Wednesday 2

Sheffield Wednesday beat Blackpool 1-0 on Saturday but what did fans think of former Leeds United defender Tom Lees' contribution?

Sheffield Wednesday recorded a victory that sent them into the top 10 in the Championship this weekend, with Lewis McGugan’s goal enough to secure a 1-0 win against Blackpool.

The result left Blackpool 17 points away from safety in the division, with relegation looking increasingly likely with games running out.

Wednesday recorded their 18th clean-sheet of the season; a wonderful achievement that in part must go down to the excellent form of defender Tom Lees.

The centre-back signed for Wednesday from Leeds United in 2014 and he has gone on to make 38 appearances this season, performing brilliantly week in, week out and recently enjoying a stint with the captain’s armband.

He arrived from Leeds for an undisclosed fee and is already looking like a wonderful addition to the Owls’ squad.

Wednesday remain 13 points outside the play-off places but they are on a run of form that suggests they will keep fighting until the end of the season.

After the match, we took to Twitter to see what Wednesday fans thought of Lees’ performance and you can read a selection of what we found below:
