Report: West Ham United scouted Leeds United star Alex Mowatt yesterday

Alex Mowatt

The talented young midfielder has been linked with a move to The Hammer.

Leeds United won against Wigan Athletic yesterday thanks yet again to a match winning performance from the ever impressive Alex Mowatt.

The 20-year-old scored his eight goal of the season as he, along with the likes of Sam Byram, Lewis Cook and Charlie Taylor continue to impress in the Leeds first-team.

It follows on from his excellent free-kick against Ipswich Town in the week and his form has now reportedly attracted the interest of a Premier League outfit.

The Sun on Sunday reported today, as described by the West Ham Vital Football thread, that The Hammers had a scout watching Mowatt at the DW Stadium yesterday.

They would have of course been impressed. He scored a goal and impressed once again for The Yorkshire club, as this reported West Ham scout was reportedly present.

Of course Leeds United will not want to sell the talented midfielder.

They currently have plenty of top young players in the first-team and the club have a hope of pushing toward promotion next season - to do so, they will need to keep hold of their big names.

Leeds will not want to see him go, so West Ham will certainly have to pay handsomely for his services if they truly are after him.
