According to a report from Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, William Carvalho is attracting interest from Spanish side Valencia.
The 22-year-old defensive midfielder has been strongly linked with Arsenal, with the Daily Mail claiming the Gunners failed with a £15million bid last summer and were prepared to return with an additional £5million in January.
That move failed to materialise, but despite the emergence of Francis Coquelin it would be no surprise if Arsenal strengthened that area this summer, with William the ideal candidate.
The Sporting Lisbon player broke through last season and has not looked back, but it appears his progress is also being tracked by the La Liga side, suggesting Arsenal may have to move fast in the summer if they ultimately want to get their man.
William is a superb defensive midfielder who also has an eye for a goal, but it is his presence in the middle of the park that really stands out and he could be a wonderful addition to the Premier League in due course.
