The ex-Gunner has stated that the visitors to Old Trafford must try to boss the midfield in tomorrow’s FA Cup clash.
Louis van Gaal’s side have shown inconsistent form of late but have a number of star players that could eliminate the North London club from the tournament given the chance.
Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has told the visitors that to win the game against United they must dominate the battles in the middle of the park and get the ball to the Gunners’ dangermen.
“Old Trafford is a hard place to play for any side so I don’t think it’s some sort of issue,” Parlour told The London Evening Standard.
“They just need to start well in the first 15-20 minutes. Win the first tackle, make the first pass. Try to boss the game.
“Wenger should tell the guys to soak up pressure, break quickly and make the most of the pace of Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez.”
With both Chelsea and Manchester City already eliminated from the competition, both sides will fancy their chances of winning the FA Cup if they can record victory in tomorrow’s clash at Old Trafford.
The pair have played some extraordinary fixtures over the years and there will be no love lost between the sides in this highly anticipated clash.
With only a point separating the teams on the Premier League table, United and Arsenal will also be competing to finish the domestic campaign in the top four, with a victory in the FA Cup a welcome confidence booster for the winner.
