The Belgian international had previously given an interview to Fan magazine, in which he suggested it could be a very busy time for him this summer.
The Atletico Madrid defender is currently on loan at St Mary’s, where he has excelled this season, but a recent report from the Telegraph claimed Tottenham Hotspur were interested in the 26-year-old, who could reportedly leave the La Liga side permanently for around £10million.
Alderweireld has been brilliant for Southampton, playing a vital role in the Saints’ climb up the table and their ongoing push for a top-four finish.
But until Ronald Koeman signs him permanently the rumours are likely to continue; something the player himself fully acknowledges.
“I am not going to hide it, it is nice to read this kind of stuff,” Alderweireld said of the speculation following his great form.
“I feel good in the Premier League but I have no idea about any concrete interest.
“Atletico can make me return because I still have two more years on my contract, Southampton can buy me; another club can make an offer. It seems, at least, that it is going to be another hectic summer for me.”
Tottenham’s defence has looked far more solid in recent times, with Eric Dier impressing alongside Jan Vertonghen and Federico Fazio a more than able deputy, but there is no doubt Alderweireld would bring considerable quality to Spurs’ back-line.
For that reason alone Southampton will surely do all they can to turn his loan into a permanent deal before Tottenham or another potential suitor swoops in.
