Tim Sherwood led his team to a win against West Brom at Villa Park.
Aston Villa are on their way to Wembley after a dramatic victory over local rivals West Brom at Villa Park. Tim Sherwood's side claimed their second victory over The Baggies in a week.
Goals from Fabian Delph and Scott Sinclair secured the win and after the game plenty of Villa players were on Twitter talking about the game and expressing their excitement for a trip to London for a semi-final.
Shay Given kept goal once again in the cup tie. The Irishman stepped in for Brad Guzan with aplomb. He will be hoping to retain his place for the semi-final.
Buzzing today with the result. Great to see Villa park rocking, Wembley here we come #UTV— Shay Given (@No1shaygiven) March 7, 2015
Jores Okore had a topsy-turvy game. The Dane was poor in the first-half but came out a different player in the second. Solid as a rock at the heart of Villa's defence, he and Ciaran Clark deserve their trip to London.
Charles N'Zogbia was a constant threat whilst on the pitch and he also took to the Tweet after the game.
Off to Wembley, well done Lads #FACup What a great atmosphere at Villa Park— Charles N'Zogbia (@CharlesNzo) March 7, 2015
Andreas Weimann was on the bench and didn't get on the pitch, but was still ecstatic with the result.
Even those who didn't play were over the moon. Christian Benteke missed out with a hip injury whilst Brad Guzan was rested - but both Tweeted their joy at the result.
All in all, it seems the Villa players are just as excited about their trip to Wembley as the fans who got a little over zealous at the ground.
