Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger on the ‘advantage’ Manchester United have in FA Cup tie

Manchester United and Arsenal will face each other in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup at Old Trafford on Monday.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has told the club’s official website that Manchester United have an advantage on Monday.

The North London club will take on Premier League rivals United away from home in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

The tie will be played at the Red Devils’ home Old Trafford and this, Wenger believes, will give Louis van Gaal’s side an advantage.

“We just want to qualify,” the Frenchman told Arsenal’s official website. “Let’s not consider Man United. Let’s focus on our performances of the day.

“In the cup, you give it your all. We know that they have a little advantage because they play at Old Trafford where they feel confident.”

Playing at home will certainly give United an edge, but Arsenal are used to playing at Old Trafford.

Wenger also has a plan to “compensate” for the Gunners’ disadvantage.

“To compensate for that, we have to put more effort in and produce a top-level performance,” said the 65-year-old.

Wenger’s plan is easier said than done. Although Arsenal have a number of top-quality players, they have not always played well against the big teams this season.

However, the North London outfit are in great form at the moment and have a momentum that will make them formidable at Old Trafford.

Arsenal are used to playing at Old Trafford, and the players know what to expect from the United fans.

As long as Arsenal do not concede an early goal and remain tight at the back towards the end of the tie, they have a good chance of winning and progressing to the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
