Manchester United's young sensation has spoken in an interview with the club.
The Belgian international has been heavily involved for the first-team recently, putting in some excellent performances to boot, and now he has revealed his favourite position on the pitch and his thoughts on the Champions League.
“My favourite position is as a winger or a number 10,” Januzaj said. “There are a lot of players here and I can play in different roles. It is just a case of taking any opportunities.”
The 20-year-old burst on to the scene last season but he has had to wait patiently a year on, with his form dipping somewhat in the early months of the campaign.
It appears that slump is behind him now though, and he has made 20 appearances to date, with his recent showing against Sunderland a perfect example of what he is capable of, replacing club-record signing Angel Di Maria and subsequently changing the game.
United are aiming for a top-four finish this season so they can return to the Champions League and that is something Januzaj appears to be looking forward to, should they get there.
“I played in it last year and it was very good to do so,” Januzaj said. “I was really happy and you know you’re waiting for that kind of opportunity again in the future.”
One thing is for sure: Januzaj is the kind of player who should be playing regularly in Europe’s elite competition, and in time he should grow into an integral member of this United squad.
