A former Arsenal great has seen his son train with a future generation of potential Gunners players.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, former Arsenal player Robert Pires’s young son could be following in his father’s footsteps after training with the Gunners’ academy.

Seven-year-old Theo reportedly completed his first training session at Arsenals’ youth complex last week although there are no details as to when he will return for further training.

Pires senior made 274 appearances for Arsenal, scoring 79 goals and providing 25 assists during a hugely succesful spell in North London.

The former French international was part of Arsenal’s Invincibles side and he will always be held in high esteem by the club’s supporters.

His young son has a long way to go before he can even think about replicating his father’s success at the club, but it is exciting to think that another Pires is now taking his first tentative steps in the game.

Pires took to Twitter shortly after his son’s training session to write, “Theo at the Youth Arsenal Academy. Good first training.”
