Arsenal are said to be interested in another defensive reinforcement.
The 20-year-old centre-back is currently on loan at Sampdoria, where he has played 19 matches this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist to date.
The Italian has previously turned out 14 times for his parent-club, but the latest report claims Arsenal have voiced their interest in a player who can also operate as a left-back if required.
Arsenal recently signed Gabriel Paulista from Villarreal, and the Brazilian has impressed to such a degree that it may not be long before he permanently replaces Per Mertesacker in the heart of the Gunners’ back-line.
But Arsenal may well be on the look-out for more young defensive reinforcements; and one as versatile as Romagnoli may be a welcome addition in due course.
The report does not cite a fee but having seen injuries and suspensions cause his defence real issues earlier in the campaign, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger would be wise to make his back-line as strong as possible prior to the new season.
