The North London outfit are having a good season and are in the running for a top-four finish in the Premier League.
Spurs also reached the round-of-32 of the Europa League and the final of the League Cup this campaign, and Pochettino has done a good job since taking over at the club in the summer.
One of the key areas where Pochettino puts a lot of effort in is raising the players’ fitness. This has been key in Tottenham making comebacks and winning games with late goals.
England international defender Walker has now highlighted Spurs’ training regime ahead of today’s Premier League clash against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road.
“The training that we put in throughout the week is very intense and the gaffer makes sure that we can go for the 90 minutes at all times,” the 24-year-old right-back told Tottenham’s official website.
“To be fair we’ve got a lot of good cover on the bench as well, so we’re not just an 11-man squad – we have strength in depth.
“We roll onto QPR now, which is another London derby, so we need to go there and take the game to them as we took it to Swansea in the second half on Wednesday.”
Tottenham are one of the fittest teams in the Premier League and have coped well with the fixture congestion.
True, Spurs did not progress past the first knockout round of the Europa League and also failed to win the League Cup final last weekend, but it was not due to tiredness.
Pochettino has a large squad at his disposal, and that has certainly helped in coping with domestic and European demands.
Now that they are out of the Europa League, Tottenham will put all of their energy into making sure that they finish in the top four.
