Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has been singing the praises of Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood on Kicca.com.
Former Tottenham Hotspur boss Sherwood took charge of the Villans last month and lost his first two games.
However, the Englishman has overseen two successive wins, both against West Bromwich Albion in the space of just five days.
There were almost 40,000 Villa fans for today’s game, and they were all enjoying themselves. Confidence is back in the team, and optimism reigns supreme.
Carragher was following today’s FA Cup tie, and he was impressed with what he saw of Villa and praised Sherwood for his impact.
“How long since we saw Villa Park bouncing like this two games running?” the ex-Liverpool and England international defender wrote on Kicca.com.
“Credit to Tim Sherwood for providing an energy & intensity on & off the pitch that's been sorely lacking for years at Aston Villa since Martin O' Neil was in charge.
“Still got a fight on their hands to stay up but the change in management has given them a great chance.”
Victory over West Brom today meant that Villa will now feature in the semi-finals of the FA Cup at London’s Wembley Stadium.
Sherwood’s side are still not safe from relegation, though. Villa are currently 17th in the Premier League table with 25 points from 28 matches, three points above the bottom three.
