Chelsea and Spain international striker Diego Costa attended Atletico Madrid’s training session on Friday, catching up with old friends.
With no fixture this weekend to keep him busy, Chelsea striker Diego Costa decided to drop in on some old friends, visiting his former Atletico Madrid teammates on Friday in the Spanish capital, as they trained at the Vicente Calderon.
The Brazilian-born Spanish international couldn't pass up the opportunity to relax a little, following a busy week that saw Chelsea win the League Cup against Tottenham Hotspur, then beat West Ham United to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League.
Diego Costa chatted at length with his former teammates, who clearly enjoyed him dropping in to wish them well, ahead of the crucial clash between Atletico and Valencia this Sunday in La Liga, with the two sides battling for third spot.
Although he won't be able to help Atletico on the pitch this time, he will no doubt be in the stands to cheer on the team that propelled him to stardom, with a full-house expected at the stadium.
