Video: Watch Sharp's neat finish and Silvestri's superb save against Ipswich

Leeds United will be looking to build on the momentum they created for themselves against Ipswich.

Leeds United secured an important win against Ipswich Town on Wednesday night, which gives them momentum looking ahead to the weekend game against Wigan.

Goals from Alex Mowatt and Billy Sharp combined with some heroics from Marco Silvestri from the penalty spot was enough to secure the three points for Neil Redfearn’s team.

It was the perfect way for the team to respond after suffering a disappointing defeat against Watford last weekend and puts them back on track with momentum as they head in the right direction.

Mowatt once again showed his superb skill from set pieces with a neat finish while Sharp showed what a great instinctive striker he is, with a superb finish from a difficult position.

However, hats off to Silvestri for holding his nerve at a difficult point in the match. The goalkeeper had earlier made a mistake for Ipswich’s goal, but he stepped up and produced a brilliant save from the spot.

Hopefully there will be further big performances for the club this weekend against a side, which has been scrapping at the wrong end of the table.

Watch the highlights below with the goals on 44 seconds, one minute and 30 seconds with the penalty save at two minutes and seven seconds.
