Real Madrid player Alvaro Arbeloa confirms he's returning to Anfield this month for charity match

The Real Madrid right-back will join the likes of Luis Suarez, Xabi Alonso and Fernando Torres in returning for the game.

Liverpool captain and legend Steven Gerrard is leaving the club in the summer. The one club man is off to join LA Galaxy when his contract expires at the end of the season.

But before he heads off to California he will participate in a charity farewell match at Anfield on March 29th for the Liverpool FC Foundation.

Gerrard is picking a team and fellow Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher is picking the other, as confirmed by the official Liverpool website.

A few of the big names who will attend the game were also officially announced yesterday.

Fernando Torres, Luis Suarez, Pepe Reina and Xabi Alonso are all confirmed as returning by the Liverpool website.

They are not alone. Dirk Kuyt will feature, as will the likes of John Terry, Didier Drogba and Thierry Henry as the Premier League says goodbye to a loyal servant.

Now you can add a current Real Madrid player to that list, as former Liverpool right-back Alvaro Arbeloa has also confirmed his attendance.

He was responding to a Tweet from Alonso when he wrote this on his official account:

Arbeloa spent two seasons at Liverpool, playing 98 times after a move from Deportivo, before joining former club Real in 2009.

Expect plenty more names to confirm their presence for the fixture in the coming weeks.
