Friday morning's training session saw several of the club's up-and-coming talents join the senior squad in preparing for Sunday's FA Cup clash with Blackburn.
The Liverpool players have been put through their paces in training at Melwood ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup visit of Blackburn Rovers, with several youngsters joining in with the first-team.
Youth prospects Tom Brewitt, Daniel Clearly, Lloyd Jones, Alex O’Hanlon and Jordan Williams were all snapped in action as Brendan Rodgers’ squad prepare for their quarter-final tie at Anfield, in a further testament to the emphasis the Northern Irishman puts on the development side.
Williams earned his professional debut earlier this season as a second-half substitute in September’s League Cup win over Middlesbrough, and has since been named to the senior bench on five further occasions.
It remains to be seen whether the promising midfielder will be involved at the weekend, but one name who does look set to feature is captain Steven Gerrard, who has not seen the pitch since last month’s 3-2 win against Tottenham Hotspur due to a hamstring problem.
The Reds skipper was spotted running drills in the sunshine this morning and should now get the call against Rovers, as he continues his bid to end his Liverpool career with a final piece of silverware before heading off to MLS in the summer.
