Jermaine Pennant could feature for Wigan against former club Leeds United.

Jermaine Pennant is in line for what previously seemed like an unlikely chance to play against Leeds United again.

The winger signed earlier this month for Wigan Athletic as a free agent, having been left on the scrapheap after being released by Stoke City last summer and unsigned.

He proved his desire to play by signing up to feature in the Indian Soccer League last winter, and has since become a starter for the relegation battling Latics who face Leeds this weekend, aiming to break a run of 14 home matches without a victory.

This is a run which has left Wigan in the relegation zone, and he will not be the only former Leeds man in line to face them this weekend, with former captain Jason Pearce also in line to feature. Pennant started in the impressive 1-0 win over Norwich City in midweek.

Pennant, 32, played for Leeds during the 2003/04 season, on loan from Arsenal, making 36 appearances for the Premier League side, but was unable to prevent their relegation, scoring just twice.

Here is a look at a selection of pictures from his time at Elland Road, including images of him battling against Ryan Giggs and Jamie Carragher, Thierry Henry and Wayne Rooney...
