Ramires Kick - Chelsea v West Ham

The midfielder was blocked off by John Terry, resulting in a pretty nasty looking eye injury.

West Ham have this weekend off as they are out of the FA Cup so have taken the opportunity to rest their weary legs, with a warm-weather training holiday taken in to balmy Dubai.

For some, the rest might just be needed.

One player in particular would be Senegalese powerhouse Cheikhou Kouyate. The summer signing from Anderlecht has been excellent for the club since his arrival, but he could do nothing to help them avoid defeat against London rivals Chelsea in midweek.

Although nobody can say he did not give it his best shot, judging by the picture he posted on Instagram earlier today.

That is a snapchat seemingly sent by team-mate Diafra Sakho documenting the damage done to the left eye of Kouyate in a challenge with John Terry on Wednesday.

Kouyate was attempting to run through on goal after playing a one-two with Sakho when Terry conveniently stepped into his path - the results now clear for all to see.

Kouyate, though, appears to be in good spirits and the injury looks superficial. West Ham can surely expect to see him back in action when The Hammers take on Arsenal next weekend.
