Rangers visit relegation-threatened Cowdenbeath on Saturday as they look to return to winning ways.
The Blue Brazil suffered a 10-0 mauling at the hands of league leaders Hearts last weekend, and Jimmy Nicholl will be looking for his side to restore some pride against Kenny McDowall’s Rangers.
The Gers last outing saw them put in a lacklustre performance against Falkirk in a 1-1 draw that was accompanied by a disjointed display that lacked both individual quality and an attacking edge.
The Glasgow side have won the last 10 instalments of this fixture dating back to the 17th September 1949.
A Dean Shiels goal was enough to separate the sides last time out, whilst Rangers won by a more convincing 3-0 score line in the first meeting of the sides this season.
Defender Richard Foster is still out injured and Newcastle loanee Kevin Mbabu won’t take any part in the game but did feature for 55 minutes in an U20’s game against Inverness alongside side Cammy Bell, who is also returning from injury but isn’t ready to make a return to the first team.
Nicholl will be able to call upon his on-loan striker from Dundee United, Kudus Oyenuga, whilst defender Darren Brownlie is also available again after foot injuries.
Colin Marshall, a key man in midfield, is likely to missing again because of a hamstring problem and the suspended Lewis Toshney is out of the game after being sent off against Hearts.
