Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Ryan Mason has told the club’s website he has reason to be confident on an individual and collective level.
Mason bagged his first Premier League goal against Swansea on Wednesday night and he’s confident that he and the side can build on their success earlier this week.
“It’s a special goal, my first Premier League goal and I’m buzzing. I’ve been waiting a long time for that and I’m over the moon to finally get it,” he said.
“This was massive after Wembley and going out of two competitions in the last six days, it was huge for us to get back to winning ways.”
From an individual point of view, there isn’t much more that Mason could be doing at the moment.
He’s playing with a very complete game in midfield. He’s getting stuck in, he’s passing well and he’s now added a goal to his game.
That should give him confidence and put a spring in his step when he runs out against QPR this weekend.
From a team point of view, he’s right to suggest that the result is massive because it helps Tottenham get over the loss against Chelsea last weekend.
They can savour the feeling of another dramatic win and use it to their advantage looking ahead to the QPR match.
They’re also in a unique position in the respect that their fixture this weekend is the only one taking place in the Premier League.
They can register three points knowing that they are only making up ground on their rivals and nothing else, if they play well enough to secure the victory.
