Nottingham Forest will be looking to bounce back from the defeat to Charlton Athletic with victory over Middlesbrough in the Championship on Saturday.

Nottingham Forest manager Dougie Freedman has told the club’s official website how he plans to approach Saturday’s Championship clash against Middlesbrough.

Forest will be looking to return to winning ways when they take on league leaders Middlesbrough at the City Ground.

The Reds suffered their first defeat under Freedman on Tuesday, when they went down 2-1 to Charlton Athletic at The Valley.

The Scot is determined to return to bounce back and has highlighted the approach he will take against Aitor Karanka’s team.

“It will be a tight game but it’s a winnable game of football if we approach it right,” Freedman told Forest’s official website.

“Physically we’re in good shape – mentally we need to make sure we approach the game with the belief that we can go and win it.”

Forest won five of their first six league matches under Freedman, and it will be interesting to observe how they bounce back.

The 40-year-old has re-instilled belief in the players and has got the best out of Henri Lansbury, but it will be a test of character of his team against Middlesbrough.

Boro are headed for automatic promotion to the Premier League, and they will be favourites to win on Saturday.

However, Forest have the quality to get the better of the visitors. Despite the defeat on Tuesday, their confidence is high, and it seems that Freedman wants the players to remain positive, which is the best approach for such a big game.
