Arsene Wenger has told the club’s website there were four areas of his team’s performance that he was pleased with against QPR.
The Gunners ran out 2-1 winners on a potentially difficult night at Loftus Road to maintain their position in the hunt for a top four place.
“We had be patient, focus on our game and get the ball down and play,” said Wenger.
“Slowly we did that in the last 15 minutes of the first half - I felt that our game was fluent, quick, sharp. Overall it’s a great win and a deserved one.”
Arsenal have showed good resolve since they were heavily beaten in the Champions League by Monaco last week and it’s important they keep their momentum and good run of form going.
Their focus changes slightly this weekend with the FA Cup game against Manchester United, but as far as the league is concerned, things are looking good for the Gunners.
Arsenal are at their very best when they can move the ball through the opponent’s half quickly, giving their opposition very little time to react to the play unfolding around them.
When the Gunners keep their defensive discipline intact, they are almost impossible to beat and it’s encouraging they seem to have tightened up following that very open display and performance against Monaco.
Next up for Arsenal in the league is a game against West Ham where they’ll be looking to put further distance between Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and the rest.
