Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood has told the club’s official website that he is taking Saturday’s FA Cup tie very seriously.
The Villans will host Premier League rivals West Bromwich Albion at Villa Park in the quarter-finals of the prestigious competition.
Villa will head into the game on the back a 2-1 home win against the Baggies in the Premier League, but Sherwood insists that he has no plan to play his best players.
"No chance! It's the quarter-final of the FA Cup,” the former Tottenham Hotspur boss told Villa’s official website when asked if he would rest players.
"It's a massive club. There's absolutely no chance of that. This win gives the club a huge lift. Now we want to get to Wembley.
"We want to be in the semi-final of the Cup. The Cup game is now the most important one for us as it's the next one - and we want to get to Wembley."
Sherwood’s strategy to play his best players in the FA Cup is laudable, and one that is likely to be helpful.
Defeating West Brom at home will make it two victories in a row for a Villa side who had gone weeks without winning games.
Confidence in the Villa camp has already increased due to the win against Villa on Wednesday, and that is something to build on.
There will always be a doubt of players picking up injuries, but that is a risk that is present in every game, even in training.
