Michael Owen has told BT Sport that he enjoys watching Tottenham Hotspur when they are on form.
The former Manchester United and Liverpool striker made the comments during Wednesday evening’s Matchday Live with Fletch and Sav show.
Owen was asked if Liverpool are the best team in England on a neutral ground over 90 minutes on current form.
This was the 35-year-old’s answer: “I think Chelsea or Liverpool. I enjoy watching Spurs when they are on form, but I think that the best two teams are Chelsea and Liverpool at the moment.”
Owen’s comments will certainly please Tottenham fans and will be agreed upon by many Premier League followers.
When on form and playing in full throttle, Mauricio Pochettino’s side are a joy to watch. Spurs’ high-pressing attacking game makes their matches hugely entertaining.
Of course, Tottenham do leave themselves open to counter-attacks and are prone to conceding goals, but for a neutral, the North London outfit are very thrilling to watch.
One cannot help but mention Arsenal when taking about entertaining football. Arsene Wenger’s side have been playing the ‘most watchable’ football in the Premier League for years, and they still remain very entertaining.
However, Owen does not mention Arsenal; he mentions Chelsea and Liverpool (for obvious reasons) along with Tottenham.
This should make Spurs fans proud and happy.
