Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao has taken to social networking site Twitter to assure the club’s fans that he and his teammates will continue to fight.
The performances of United have not been great so far this season, but Louis van Gaal’s side have picked up points and are very much in the running for a top-four finish.
On Wednesday, the Manchester outfit registered a narrow 1-0 victory over Newcastle United at St. James’ Park, thanks to a late strike from Ashley Young.
Colombia international striker Falcao was actually dropped for the match, and he did not even come on as a substitute.
However, the 29-year-old seems to be fully committed to the United, posting the following message on Twitter.
Important win last night. The team will keep fighting! / Importante victoria ayer. El equipo va a seguir luchando! pic.twitter.com/xyFXnOpT9m— Radamel Falcao (@FALCAO) March 5, 2015
Falcao joined United on loan from Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco in the summer of 2014 amid much hype and expectation.
Much was expected of the former Atletico Madrid star, but he has struggled with fitness problems and poor form.
In 17 Premier League appearances so far this season, Falcao has scored only four goals and created 14 chances, while having a pass accuracy of 84% and a shot accuracy of 60%.
Falcao also welcomed back Newcastle defender Jonas Gutierrez, who made his first appearance for the Magpies in 17 months as a substitute against United on Wednesday after recovering from testicular cancer.
