Photos: Sam Allardyce fumes as Chelsea beat West Ham through 'offside' goal

Allardyce deflated

The West Ham boss fumed repeatedly on the touchline during the Hammers' narrow 1-0 defeat to the Blues.

West Ham United's run of games without a win all competitions extended to seven on Wednesday night as Premier League leaders Chelsea left Upton Park with a 1-0 win.

The east London side's slide down the table now sees them in 10th place, only weeks after they sat in the top four following a terrific start to the campaign under Sam Allardyce.

The Chelsea loss, though, was a far cry from West Ham's 4-0 reverse at West Brom in the FA Cup or even their 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace in the league last weekend.

No, against the Blues, the Hammers were 'magnificent,' according to their manager, with Allardyce suggesting Chelsea only won through an offside goal.

"I believe the performance was magnificent. Their goalkeeper's made some fantastic saves," the West Ham boss is quoted as saying by the Daily Star.

"I think the goal is offside by a hair's breadth. These decisions need to go for you not against you."

Perhaps that explains Allardyce's fury, with the 60-year-old pictured repeatedly bellowing instructions and generally fuming throughout Wednesday night's contest at the Boleyn Ground.

Whether the West Ham boss was fuming at his players, Chelsea's players or the referees at one point or another, there certainly are a number of images of him venting his frustration.

Here are the best of them as Allardyce came to grips with yet another defeat, although his side's performance against Chelsea will have given him plenty of hope...
