Newcastle United prospect Jamie Sterry has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his delight at making the squad for Wednesday’s Premier League clash against Manchester United.
The highly rated defender, who has trained with the first team this season, was part of the Newcastle squad ahead of yesterday’s game at St. James’ Park.
However, Sterry failed to make the final cut and was not included in John Carver’s 18-man matchday squad.
That did not dampen the youngster’s spirits, though, as he took to Twitter following the 1-0 defeat for Newcastle to revel in his truly laudable achievement.
What dreams are made of! So happy to make the squad for tonight's game vs Man United #46 pic.twitter.com/6qPMVatF3N— Jamie Sterry (@JamieSterry2) March 4, 2015
Sterry, who was born in Newcastle in 1995, is a right-sided defender who is known for being strong in the tackles and for his pace.
It seems that the youngster is very highly rated by Carver, or else why would the Newcastle boss include him in his squad for the game against United.
It will be interesting to see if Sterry gets to make his first-team debut for the Premier League outfit this season.
