Tottenham get back to winning ways, while Swansea slip to ninth following their battle at White Hart Lane.
It was a compelling game at White Hart Lane as Tottenham put the disappointment of their League Cup final defeat to Chelsea behind them and got back to winning ways against Swansea City.
The two sides paid tribute to one of Tottenham's great players in Dave Mackay before kick off, who died earlier in the week following illness. What followed was a game that ebbed and flowed saw Spurs keep themselves in the hunt to finish in the Champions League places but they were given a scare by the visitors.
Nacer Chadli gave them a lead with a well-taken volley from a Danny Rose cross but celebration turned to concern as Swansea's Bafetimbi Gomis appeared to collapse - and after being stretchered off he appeared to be talking and has given a positive update on his health this morning.
They were pegged back before shortly after thanks to a close range effort from Ki-Sung-Yeung but just after half-time a relatively quick-fire double from Ryan Mason and Andros Townsend put the home side in control.
Gylfi Sigurdsson scored on his return to White Hart Lane with a minute or normal time remaining, and Spurs had Hugo Lloris to thank for a wonderful diving save from Federico Fernandez in injury time to secure all three points.
