Everton now sit in 14th place in the table and look to be heading towards a relegation battle.
Last night's 2-0 defeat to Stoke City has left them on 28 points after 28 games, meaning it's their worst points tally at this stage in a league campaign in 88 years, with Everton now sitting in 14th place, six points clear of Queens Park Rangers and Burnley who occupy the two highest places in the relegation zone.
There is some credit in the bank for Spaniard after his first season in charge where the side brought in a record points total for the Premier League era, but it's a very different story this season.
They currently languish six points above the relegation zone and a lot of the credit Martinez banked last season appears to be evaporating by the game, with some supporters fearing for their Premier League status as they criticise the manager for putting his footballing style over substance.
Everton may be in the last 16, and the last remaining British team, in the Europa League but their performances at home are doing the manager no favours as they have won one game in their last 12 in the Premier League.
Here is what a few fans think after last night's setback:

If I was BK I would sack Martinez and put Big Dunc as caretaker manager till the end of the season. Can't do any worse! .....— Martin Hiles (@hiles_efc_89) March 5, 2015
Why did Martinez blame the fact that we had 5 games in 2 weeks on our lost last night when we have been shocking all season .. Explain that— mike cole (@MikeevertonCole) March 5, 2015
Why on earth do some idiots search around for tweets supporting Martinez from over a year ago and then retweet them? Times change. #efc— Roy Leatham (@RoyLeatham) March 5, 2015
This is first game I've SERIOUSLY started to question Martinez. I want him to stay and turn around, but realistically that ain't happening
