The Togo international will be a free agent at the end of the season when his current contract with Spurs runs out.
No deal is in place for the 31-year-old to remain at White Hart Lane beyond the summer, and it now seems that he could leave for Major League Soccer.
“I do not know anything (about interest from Lazio),” Adebayor’s agent told Lazionews.eu. “There is no official interest.
“I do think that he is interested in moving to Serie A. He is more willing to moving to America. There are already several clubs who are interested, but for now the offers are too low."
Set to leave Tottenham?
It seems that Adebayor is now set to leave North London outfit Tottenham at the end of the season.
The former Arsenal and Manchester City striker has struggled for form and goals throughout the season, and it makes sense for the player and the club to part company.
At 31, Adebayor is past his prime, although he could still do the job for some modest teams in need of an experienced striker.
However, Serie A may prove to be tough for the former AS Monaco star. Italian football is very tactical, and Adebayor may not be able to adapt to it.
As usual with Premier League players past their 20s, Adebayor seems to want an MLS move, but wages once again appear to be a problem.
Many will doubt whether the Togolese will be able to succeed in the USA. Although the MLS is not at the same level as the Premier League, it is very competitive.
