Confirmed: Fernando Torres, Luis Suarez and more returning to Anfield this month

Liverpool's home ground will host a charity farewell match for Steven Gerrard.

Liverpool captain and legend Steven Gerrard is leaving the club in the summer. The one club man is off to join LA Galaxy for the advent of his career when his contract expires at the end of the season.

But before he heads off to California he will participate in a charity farewell match at Anfield on March 29th, during the international break.

Gerrard is picking a team and fellow Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher is picking the other, as confirmed by the official Liverpool website earlier today.

Now, a few of the big names who will attend the game have been officially announced.

Last month a report in Diario AS named some of the potential players present. Fernando Torres is currently at Atletico Madrid but had an excellent time at Liverpool earlier in his career. He left the club in 2011 for Chelsea but looked set to be returning to Merseyside for this fixture.

He was not the only big name mentioned. Luis Suarez and Javier Mascherano were reported to have been invited as were Bayern Munich duo Pepe Reina and Xabi Alonso.

Well the Spanish paper had a few right after all.

Torres, Suarez, Reina and Alonso are all confirmed as returning by the Liverpool website.

They are not alone. Dirk Kuyt will feature, as will the likes of John Terry, Didier Drogba and Thierry Henry as the Premier League says goodbye to a loyal servant.
