Chelsea media round-up: Mourinho stresses importance of last night's win

José Mourinho Celebrates

A round up of news stories this morning related to Chelsea.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been quoted by Sky Sports suggested the three points against West Ham last night were massive for the club.

The victory allows the Blues to maintain a strong gap from Manchester City, hunting them in second place.

It wasn’t the Blues’ best performance so far this season, but they did what they had to in order to get the job done.

“The way West Ham play, nobody is better than them. These three points are massive for us,” said Mourinho.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has suggested in FourFourTwo that Eden Hazard is the complete player at the moment.

The Belgian came up with the goods last night to ensure the Blues secured a 1-0 win away at West Ham to maintain their position at the top of the table.

Mourinho has been left purring over all aspects of Hazard’s performance after the game, despite determination from the Hammers to stop him.

“Today, not in a violent way, just an aggressive football way because they tried to stop him but the kid is playing, scoring and defending,” said Mourinho.

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has picked out Thibaut Courtois for praise in West London Sport.

The Hammers boss has suggested that the Belgian shot stopper was the difference between the clubs last night.

Courtois pulled off a number of good saves over the course of the game to keep his side ahead.

“Their goalkeeper’s made some fantastic saves. We started the second half brilliantly, the keeper made some great saves,” said Allardyce.
