Celtic supporters were less than impressed with the display of Wakaso Mubarak last night.
Wakaso Mubarak has had to wait a long time for his chance at Celtic, but it seems that he did not manage to take it last night.
The Ghanian international came on at half time during the Bhoys' match against St. Johnstone, but he failed to impress - with his display suggesting that he will be left on the substitutes' bench again for the foreseeable future.
Wakaso was brought on at left-back, but failed to have any influence in an attacking sense and struggled throughout as Celtic crashed to an unexpected 1-0 defeat.
It was a disappointing showing from a player who should have been desperate to impress, considering his lack of game time with the Scottish champions so far.
Wakaso has played just 11 times for the Bhoys since arriving back in the summer transfer window and this was his first appearance since the start of December.
If Ronny Deila had expected the rapid wide man to be champing at the bit to impress he was mistaken, though, as Wakaso's display was nothing more than mediocre.
It had led to criticism from Celtic fans, and here is some of the best reaction to Wakaso's performance on social media site Twitter.
Just home from cp. honking tonight! Forrest is done. Stokes is done and wakaso on at full back bamboozled me— Elliot Woods (@ELL_1889) March 4, 2015
Who told Wakaso he was a left back? And why hasn't it been explained to him it was a joke? Should have brought Fisher on and left Efe at LB.— Krys (@krys1888) March 4, 2015
And do we not have any young full backs who can step into the system better than Ambrose and Wakaso who struggle?— Jacob Craqueur (@BStarksTH) March 4, 2015
Wakaso at LB isn't worth criticising. In miles of space every time we went forward. How the players/management didn't see it is beyond me.— Declan McGuinness (@carfenian) March 4, 2015
Well that didn't quite go to plan. Wakaso & Forrest look completely out their depth with the way we play.— Mark McMullan (@tartanmarco) March 4, 2015
@RichardGordon48 the experiment failed, need Bitton to hold the ball, SJ is never as effective in any other role, Wakaso is not good enough— Malcolm Macdonald (@malcolm1983) March 4, 2015
If Wakaso plays like he did tonight I can wait for him to leave— daniel (@danieldick1) March 4, 2015
Forrest wakaso stokes all hopefully one game closer to their last game for celtic— kerryootkerryon (@kezd08) March 4, 2015
