Manchester United star was substituted off early once again.
Manchester United's record signing Angel di Maria failed to make a telling impact once again, this time in the match against Newcastle United.
The Argentine was substituted off after 64 minutes for Adnan Januzaj, which at least bettered the 45 minutes he played at the weekend against Sunderland.
During the game at St James' Park he completed only 64 per cent of his passes, but despite this, he did enough to win praise from former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher.
Di Maria started the game poorly but very good 2nd half, set up two excellent chances for Fellaini & Rooney that looked onside.— Jamie Carragher (@Carra23) March 4, 2015
The problem was Di Maria did not even play 20 minutes of the second half, as his recent struggle for form continues.
The former Real Madrid star created actually just one key pass, and did not manage to muster a single shot at goal. With 49 total touches, he contributed nothing defensively, with no tackles or interceptions, but did complete three dribbles.
He has no goals and two assists in his last 10 games, and while there are occasional moments where he shows his quality, he is failing to click into top form for United and is clearly becoming a bit of a worry for his manager.
