Robert Tesche provided an assist on his debut for Birmingham City just days after sealing his loan move from Nottingham Forest.
The German midfielder had fallen out of favour at Forest under new manager Dougie Freedman, despite being a regular under former boss Stuart Pearce.
Former Hamburg star Tesche went straight into the Birmingham team which edged a 1-0 victory over bottom side Blackpool, inflicting a victory over their former boss Lee Clark.
Tesche's pass for Andy Shinnie's header was inch perfect, and although it was the only goalscoring chance he created all night, it was enough.
He completed 74 per cent of his passes against Blackpool, which was better than any of his fellow midfielders barring Demarai Gray, 76 per cent. Defensively Tesche made an impact too, managing to make three tackles and three interceptions.
The win moves Birmingham into 13th position in the Championship, and follows up their surprise win over Brentford at the weekend. Beforehand the side had gone eight games without a victory.
Tesche's impact provided plenty of reason for optimism heading into the rest of the season, and their gain is Forest's loss if the reaction of Blues fans is anything to go by...
