Arsenal defender praises West Ham loanee Carl Jenkinson on Twitter after stunning tackle

The right-back prevented Diego Costa from scoring what looked an easy goal.

Last night saw West Ham United fall to Chelsea at Upton Park, in what was an absorbing and thoroughly entertaining match in the Premier League.

In the end West Ham were unfortunate to come away with nothing from the game, after an inspired performance from Thibaut Courtois.

However one of the highlights from the game would have to be a piece of defending from a West Ham player who has been excellent this season.

Carl Jenkinson is only on loan from Arsenal but the England capped right-back has been in excellent form for The Hammers throughout the campaign.

Yesterday it looked like Diego Costa was all set to add to his goal tally when he was unleashed on goal. But just moments before he could pull the trigger, Jenkinson slid in with a fantastic last-ditch tackle keep West Ham in the tie.

It was a moment that had a current Arsenal player praising Jenkinson on Twitter. Isaac Hayden, who trains regularly with the Arsenal first-team, had this to say:

With the likes of Hector Bellerin, Calum Chambers and Mathieu Debuchy all at Arsenal the future of Jenkinson appears to be away from The Emirates.

But moments like that tackle from last night makes you wonder why.
