“The thing is, it is important we try to get the victory as soon as possible, because it ebbs away at the confidence in the end,” said Allardyce
“The players begin to worry.”
Pressure is mounting over Allardyce as the Hammers chase a win and they now have a break before they play their next league game against Arsenal.
The FA Cup action returns this weekend and the Hammers can use the extra time to look at correcting any weaknesses the manager feels they have.
There are no easy games because straight away after playing Arsenal, the Hammers take on Sunderland who are scrapping to improve their position at the other end of the Premier League table.
West Ham are clinging on to the thought of a European place looking ahead to next season and if they’re to retain any hope of that happening, they need to win some games and build some confidence.
That will give them momentum, which will make them a much more difficult side to get the better of in upcoming important games.
