Southampton secured a much needed Premier League win last night in their game against Crystal Palace thanks to a single strike from Sadio Mane.
The result moved the Saints up a place in the table and has given the team some confidence in the race for a top four place.
One player who was under pressure heading into the game was Graziano Pelle, who started through the middle of the attack.
He was under pressure because one of the areas of this Southampton team which has struggled in recent games is the attack.
The Saints have scored just two goals in their last six matches, which shows how much they are struggling to be creative and hit the back of the net at the moment.
The main reason Pelle’s form is so surprising is because of the impressive way he started this season after arriving from Feyenoord last summer.
His record this season currently stands at eight goals and two assists and he should be looking to get into double figures in the Premier League before the end of the season.
The challenge for Ronald Koeman is finding a way to help him hit the back of the net and find a way to reignite the form he showed in the early weeks of the campaign.
He just has to keep picking him and showing him the faith to keep him in the side through a difficult patch.
Pelle is the same as any other striker; he needs form to create confidence. When he hits the back of the net again, it could put a spring in his step and allow him to terrorise defences the way he needs to as the Saints chase down Champions League football.
Here’s what Saints fans on Twitter made of Pelle’s performance last night.

Ronald Koeman is more patient than the Saints Fans, but surely he must get Pelle off.— Charles Miller (@vanislesaint) March 3, 2015

@drylunch_ I'm no manager but I'd put on long upfront, tadic central behind him and get Elia and pelle as far away from Saints as possible— Murray Yelf (@MurrayYelf) March 3, 2015
Pellè is an absolute black hole for Saints offense right now. Sheesh.— Jason Lewis (@SirJDL) March 3, 2015
Glad that #SaintsFC finally have a win again. Good that we've now got a break for a week and a half as well. Pelle needs it.— Dan Barr (@danbarr2) March 4, 2015
