Newcastle United youngster Sammy Ameobi has told the Chronicle he feels the club’s season could still go either way.
Newcastle face a massive game against Manchester United this evening and the forward is wary of the direction the team’s season could head in over the closing months.
“We can climb as high as we want or we could drop as low as we want. We want to push as high up the table as possible. And each game is as important as the next one,” he said.
A win against United this evening would create even more momentum following on from the victory against Aston Villa last weekend.
It would improve the club’s Premier League standing and would lead the side towards the possibility of finishing in the top eight.
However, a bad defeat and Carver may feel the fear a little bit that a bad run could set into his injury affected side over the next few weeks.
He’ll rightly be desperate to avoid a scrap at the wrong end of the table over the next few weeks as sides battle for position in the lower half.
As things stand, Newcastle should definitely be looking up rather than down.
They’re five points away from the top eight and are probably one win away from the amount of points it will take to keep any team in the top flight this season.
