Newcastle United winger Rolando Aarons has backed Jamie Sterry to make the breakthrough into the first team soon.
Sterry is a highly rated defender who is currently part of Newcastle’s youth team.
The youngster was part of Newcastle’s squad for this evening’s Premier League game against Manchester United at St. James’ Park.
The teenager, though, failed to make the 18-man matchday squad, but Aarons believes that he will make the substitutes’ bench soon.
Congrats to my boy jamiesterry77 on making the squad hopefully next time he makes the bench. Big… https://t.co/FCUC0kWGkx— Rolando Aarons (@R_Aarons16) March 4, 2015
Aarons himself is very young and is only 19 years of age, but he has already made his first-team debut for Newcastle.
The England Under-20 international has been on the sidelines since November, but prior to that he was very impressive for the Magpies.
Aarons scored one goal in three Premier League appearances, while having a pass accuracy of 81% and winning 45% of the duels.
The youngster is still some time away from making a first-team return, and the Newcastle fans will hope that he does so sooner rather than later.
