Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has told the Liverpool Echo why he’s getting excited about the current side.
Liverpool have started to put together a good run of form and will head into their game against Burnley this evening full of confidence after a win against Manchester City last weekend.
A reason behind the resurged form seems to be the fact that key players signed last summer are starting to show why the side made such heavy investments to sign them.
“We just needed to give them time - That’s the exciting thing for me. I said earlier in the season that once they began to settle and understand what’s expected of them it can be an exciting future here,” said the Reds boss.
Alberto Moreno and Lazar Markovic are two very good examples of players who have come in and adapted well to the system Rodgers is currently using with the first team.
The challenge now for the players and the boss is to find the consistency, which keeps the good run of form going over the coming weeks and months.
Teams will be studying Liverpool meticulously and will be looking for ways to try and get an advantage over the Reds.
Rodgers needs to keep everyone on their toes to ensure that experience and newer players find ways to stay effective in the face of those tactics.
Things seem to have clicked at the right time for the club with a position in the top four by the end of the season the main aim and a very realistic possibility.
