Report: Arsenal to lodge £10m bid for ex-Tottenham Hotspur man Kevin Prince-Boateng

Arsenal are looking at signing Kevin Prince-Boateng, according to reports this morning.

Arsenal are hoping to sign former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Kevin Prince-Boateng, according to a report in the Daily Star

Prince-Boateng represented Spurs for two years between 2007 and 2009 and he could be in line for a return to North London in the near future.

The Ghanian international currently plays for Schalke, but Arsenal are apparently keen on taking him off the Bundesliga side and will lodge a £10 million bid over the summer.

An offer of that size is expected to be enough to convince Schalke to sell up, but the Gunners will reportedly have to compete with Juventus for the 27-year-old, as the Italian club are also said to be interested.

Impact for Arsenal?

Prince-Boateng's arrival at Arsenal would be a surprise because there must be a question of where he fits in.

Arsene Wenger's men have an abundance of attacking midfielders and Prince-Boateng's arrival wouldn't solve any of their major issues.

The Gunners are in dire need of a more defensive minded midfielder and Wenger would be better served by bringing in someone of this mould rather than Prince-Boateng this summer.
