St Johnstone have the opportunity to take sixth place from Dundee when they come up against league leaders Celtic.
To be played on Wednesday 4th March at 19:45. Venue: Celtic Park, Glasgow.
Odds: Celtic 1/5, Draw 11/2, St Johnstone 12
The Saints will face an extremely difficult task against a Bhoys side that are currently in full flow, having beaten their closest rivals, Aberdeen, on Sunday to widen the gap at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
This display of superiority will do nothing for the confidence of Tommy Wright’s outfit who have managed one win in their last five games, drawing three and losing once.
Ronny Deila will be aiming for a ninth league win in a row but may have to make some changes to his squad given the busy schedule of domestic and European football they have had over the past two weeks.
The Hoops boss already has some enforced changes with Kris Commons (thigh) and Emilio Izaguirre (hand) joining Mikael Lustig (ankle) and Charlie Mulgrew (hamstring tendon) on the injury list.
Striker, John Guidetti, is also being assessed ahead of the game for a knee complaint that could see him miss out.
Wright will be without defender Frazer Wright for the game, who is recovering from concussion and a broken nose, with the only other absentee being Simon Lappin, who is recovering from knee ligament damage.
Predicted Celtic line up:
Gordon, Matthews, Ambrose, van Dijk, Denayer, Biton, Brown, Armstrong, Mackay-Steven, Johansen, Griffiths
Predicted St Johnstone line up:
Mannus, MacKay, Scobbie, Anderson, Easton, Millar, Wotherspoon, Davidson, McLean, Kane, O’Halloran
