Winston Reid will reportedly snub offers to leave West Ham in order to sign a new contract at Upton Park.

According to the Daily Mail, West Ham United defender Winston Reid is set to make a shocking U-turn by signing a new contract at Upton Park.

The 26-year-old New Zealand international has established himself as a firm fan favourite with the Hammers since his 2010 move from Danish side Midtjylland - but his future has been in doubt throughout the season.

Reid is out of contract at the end of the season, and whilst he remains a key part of Sam Allardyce's team, many have expected him to move on in the summer.

Recent reports from The Mirror suggested that Reid would be joining London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer at the end of the season; which would naturally anger West Ham fans considering their rivalry with Spurs.

However, the Daily Mail now believe that Reid will be making a shock decision over his future, and will snub interest from other Premier League clubs in order to sign a new contract with West Ham.

Reid has played 24 times in the Premier League for West Ham this season, and turned in a superb display against Tottenham just over a week ago, shackling Spurs hotshot striker Harry Kane throughout.

It's a remarkable turnaround if true, and one that West Ham supporters will be ecstatic to read about. Having thought for so long that their star defender would be leaving for nothing in a matter of months, they may now be able to think about a future that includes Reid in their defence - which is a huge boost to the Hammers.
