One Tottenham Hotspur youngster has congratulated another after a fine individual performance this week.
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Nabil Bentaleb knows what it is like to come through the ranks at White Hart Lane, so he is likely to be watching the progress of some of the other club’s youngsters with eager eyes.
A player he will know very well is fellow 20-year-old Shaquile Coulthirst, and the Algerian international sent a message to his teammate on Twitter following the striker’s impressive performance for Tottenham’s under-21s on Monday.
Coulthirst scored twice in a 4-0 win against Everton’s youngsters, with all the goals coming in a first-half blitz that suggested a humiliation was on the cards.
The Toffees held firm in the second period but Coulthirst can be proud of his efforts, and Bentaleb was quick to congratulate him.
“Congrats to my boy Shaq Coulthirst for banging in two goals against Everton,” Bentaleb wrote.
The midfielder has enjoyed an impressive season at Tottenham and his performance in the Capital One Cup final against Chelsea was nothing short of brilliant.
Spurs may have lost that match but Bentaleb showed them a glimpse of a very bright future and if he maintains his own fine form Coulthirst may also be part of that.
