Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been speaking in an interview published by London 24 about how he copes with the increased attention on him following his outstanding form this season.
Kane has scored 24 goals for Spurs this season but he was unable to find the net in the Capital One Cup final against Chelsea, with the Blues ultimately running out 2-0 winners.
That came as a huge blow for Tottenham so soon after they were eliminated from the Europa League at the hands of Italian side Fiorentina. But Kane is looking ahead to the rest of their Premier League campaign, while also discussing how he deals with what he calls the “furore” around him.
“The aim now is to finish in the top four,” Kane said, which is still a very real possibility considering the players at Tottenham’s disposal.
Referring to his own outstanding campaign, the young striker said, “How am I handling the furore around me this season? I’m enjoying it, it shows I’m doing well and that’s what any footballer wants – to have the backing from your fans and everyone around you, so I’m enjoying it.”
It is good to hear that Kane is not getting swamped by the increased expectation but is simply embracing it.
That bodes well for the future if the current England under-21 international continues on his current trajectory.
