A round up of news stories this morning related to Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs were beaten 2-0 in the League Cup final against Chelsea yesterday, but Pochettino insists his team are in a good place despite the setback.
“I think we are in a very good place. It shows that we can play a lot of finals in the next few years,” said the boss.
Spurs now have just the Premier League to concentrate on over the rest of the season.
Tottenham defender Kyle Walker has been quoted by the Haringey Independent backing the team’s chances of securing Champions League football.
Walker feels Tottenham have a good chance of finishing in the top four over the rest of the Premier League season.
“If we keep winning games and people drop points behind us, then it’s going to put us up there. We just need to keep doing what we’ve been doing,” he said.
Tottenham take on Swansea in their next Premier League game this Wednesday.
Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Glenn Hoddle told Sky Sports the defeat yesterday can be a building block for the team.
Hoddle has praised the way Tottenham started the final, nearly getting their noses in front when Christian Eriksen hit the bar with a free kick.
“I think Spurs can hold their heads high. They played an excellent first half in particular and if the free-kick goes in that can change the game,” said Hoddle.
Hoddle has suggested that Spurs need to press on and win a trophy over the next couple of years.
