Tottenham fans were raving about the performance of midfielder Nabil Bentaleb against Chelsea on Sunday.

Tottenham were left heartbroken on Sunday as Chelsea defeated them 2-0 in the Capital One Cup final at Wembley Stadium.

Two deflected goals from John Terry and Diego Costa handed Chelsea their first piece of silverware since Jose Mourinho returned to Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2013.

Tottenham will feel aggrieved to have lost in such a fashion, but there were still positives to take for manager Mauricio Pochettino after the Argentine guided Spurs to the final in his first season in charge at White Hart Lane.

A number of youngsters featured for Spurs, including Danny Rose, Eric Dier, Ryan Mason, Andros Townsend and Harry Kane, but none caught the eye quite as much as Nabil Bentaleb.

The Algerian has established himself as one of the key players in the Tottenham side under Pochettino, and his impressive campaign continued with a stand-out display against Chelsea.

The 20-year-old was Spurs' man of the match at Wembley, serving up a calm and assured display in midfield which far exceeded his years.

After his mature performance, Tottenham fans took to Twitter to praise the French-born midfielder, with some fans even suggesting that Bentaleb is a future Spurs captain after yet another fine display.

Others suggested that it was his best performance as a Tottenham player - so here are the reactions from Spurs fans on Twitter to Bentaleb's display.
