Tottenham Hotspur may have lost 2-0 to Chelsea in the final of the League Cup on Sunday, but there was one very big reason for Spurs fans to keep a semblance of a smile on their faces.
The performance of Tottenham midfielder Nabil Bentaleb was nothing short of brilliant, with the 20-year-old Algerian international showing a wonderful glimpse of the player he is destined to become.
When you consider how young Bentaleb is, his performances this season are all the more exceptional, and at this rate he should ultimately grow into one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.
Against Chelsea he refused to be bullied and held his own against some of the most experienced players in the country.

His passing accuracy of 92.1 per cent spoke volumes about his confidence on the ball and he got stuck in with two tackles, two interceptions and one aerial battle while he also played four accurate long balls to set up attacks from deep.
Tottenham have a number of highly talented young players on their books but Bentaleb may just be the best of the lot.
If his first cup final is anything to go by, it will not be his - or Tottenham's - last under manager Mauricio Pochettino.
