The Germany international created the Gunners’ two goals in their 2-0 victory over Everton at the Emirates Stadium yesterday.
The former Real Madrid man arrived in North London with a reputation of being one of the world’s best providers of assists due to his guile and vision.
Despite only starting 11 Premier League games this season due to debilitating injuries taking their toll, Ozil’s assists have been important to Arsene Wenger’s men.
The German midfielder provided both assists in the Gunners’ 2-0 victory over Everton yesterday, taking his tally for the season to five.
Interestingly, when Ozil has provided an assist in the Premier Leauge this season, Arsenal have gone on to win the match.
Ozil set up Danny Welbeck for a goal against Aston Villa back in September, while also recording an assist against the same opposition last month, with Olivier Giroud the benefactor on that occasion.
The diminutive schemer also created Laurent Koscielny’s opener in February’s 2-1 victory against Leicester.
Ozil is by no means playing as well as he is capable of for Arsenal this season, but as he strings a run of games together his ability to create assists could be a key element in the side’s push for a top four finish.
